1. Open the hood of your Mazda.
2. Locate the serpentine belt. It is the long, black belt that wraps around the front of the engine.
3. Spray a small amount of belt lubricant onto the serpentine belt and let it sit for a few minutes.
4. Use a wrench to loosen the tensioner pulley bolt. The tensioner pulley is the small pulley with a spring-loaded arm.
5. Slowly release the tension on the belt by pushing down on the tensioner arm.
6. Slide the belt off of the pulleys.
Step 2: Install the new serpentine belt
1. Check the new serpentine belt to make sure that it is the correct size.
2. Slide the new serpentine belt onto the pulleys.
3. Start by putting the belt around the crankshaft pulley.
4. Then, wrap the belt around the alternator pulley and the power steering pump pulley.
5. Finish by wrapping the belt around the tensioner pulley.
6. Tighten the tensioner pulley bolt until the belt is snug.
7. Recheck the belt tension and adjust if necessary.
Step 3: Test the serpentine belt
1. Start the engine.
2. Listen for any unusual noises.
3. Check to make sure the belt is running smoothly.
Tip: If you are not comfortable replacing the serpentine belt yourself, you can have it done by a professional mechanic.
