Materials Needed:
- Windshield cleaning solution
- Microfiber towel
- Squeegee
- Clean water
Instructions:
1. Preparation:
- Remove any dirt, debris, or snow from the windshield with a duster or soft brush.
- Park your car in a shady area to prevent the cleaning solution from drying too quickly.
2. Apply Cleaning Solution:
- Spray the windshield with a generous amount of windshield cleaning solution.
- Make sure to cover the entire surface, including the corners and edges.
3. Scrubbing:
- Using a clean, non-abrasive microfiber towel, gently scrub the windshield in circular or horizontal motions.
- Apply some pressure to remove dirt and grime.
- Be sure to clean the wiper blades as well.
4. Rinsing:
- Rinse the windshield with water until all of the cleaning solution is removed.
- You can use a garden hose or a bucket of clean water.
5. Squeegeeing:
- Use a squeegee to remove excess water from the windshield.
- Start from the top of the windshield and work your way down.
- Make sure to overlap each stroke slightly to avoid leaving streaks.
6. Final Inspection:
- Check the windshield for any remaining dirt, spots, or streaks.
- If you notice any, repeat the cleaning process.
7. Drying:
- Use a dry, clean microfiber towel to dry the edges of the windshield and any remaining water droplets.
8. Wiper Testing:
- Turn on the windshield wipers to make sure they are working properly.
- If the wipers leave any streaks or marks on the windshield, you may need to replace them.
Additional Tips:
- Avoid using harsh chemicals, as they may damage the windshield or the paint around it.
- Clean the windshield regularly, especially after driving in dusty, dirty, or rainy conditions.
- Replace the windshield wipers when they start to show signs of wear or damage.
