Materials
* Replacement door lock actuator
* Door panel clip tool
* Trim panel remover
* New lock actuator
Instructions
1. Open the door and remove the two plastic screws holding the door panel.
2. Use a trim panel remover to pry up the door panel. Start prying at the bottom and work your way up.
3. Disconnect the electrical connections to the door panel, including the power window switch, the power lock switch, and the door ajar switch.
4. Remove the two 10 mm nuts holding the door handle.
5. Remove the two 12 mm bolts holding the door lock actuator in place.
6. Pry up the door lock actuator and detach it from the linkage rod.
7. Bungee cord or ratchet strap the door panel out of the way.
8. Connect the electrical connector to the new actuator.
9. Insert the new actuator into the door and clip it into place.
10. Replace the two 12 mm bolts holding the door lock actuator.
11. Replace the door handle and its 10mm nuts.
12. Connect the power window switch, the power lock switch, and the door ajar switch.
13. Replace the door panel and the two plastic screws.
Tips
* Be careful when prying up the door panel. You can easily break the plastic clips.
* If you are having trouble getting the door panel off, try using a heat gun to warm up the adhesive holding it in place.
* Make sure to bungee cord or ratchet strap the door panel securely out of the way while you work on replacing the door lock actuator. Otherwise, it may fall and damage the interior of your car.
