How do you replace a stuck wheel stud?

To replace a stuck wheel stud, follow these steps:

1. Gather your tools and materials. You will need:

* A punch or small pry bar

* A hammer

* A socket wrench or breaker bar

* A new wheel stud

* A lug nut

2. Chock the wheels of your vehicle and loosen the lug nuts on the stuck wheel. Do this with a socket wrench or breaker bar and do not remove the lug nuts completely.

3. Jack up your vehicle and remove the wheel. Use a floor jack and place it under the frame of your vehicle, near the stuck wheel. Raise the vehicle until the wheel is off the ground and then use a lug wrench to remove the lug nuts and take off the wheel.

4. Use a punch or small pry bar to remove the stuck wheel stud. Place the punch or pry bar against the side of the wheel stud and tap it with a hammer until it loosens and can be removed by hand.

5. Install the new wheel stud. Thread the new wheel stud into the lug nut hole until it is seated against the lug nut. Tighten the wheel stud with a socket wrench or breaker bar.

6. Replace the wheel and lower your vehicle. Put the wheel back on and replace the lug nuts, then lower the vehicle with the floor jack. Tighten the lug nuts with a lug wrench.

Note: If the lug nut is seized onto the wheel stud, you may need to use a penetrating lubricant to loosen it. Spray the lubricant onto the lug nut and let it sit for a few minutes before trying to loosen it.

Tip: If a wheel stud is really stuck, you can use a cutting torch or angle grinder to cut the stud off at the lug nut.
