Instructions:
1. Disconnect Battery:
- Open the hood and locate the negative battery terminal.
- Loosen the negative battery terminal nut with a wrench and remove the terminal from the battery post.
2. Remove Alternator Belt:
- Locate the alternator belt tensioner.
- Use a wrench to loosen the tensioner and remove the belt from the alternator pulley.
3. Remove Alternator Wiring:
- Disconnect the wiring harness from the rear of the alternator.
4. Remove Mounting Bolts:
- Locate the alternator mounting bolts and loosen them with a wrench.
5. Remove the Alternator:
- Once all bolts are loose, carefully remove the alternator from the engine compartment.
6. Install New Alternator:
- Position the new alternator in place and secure it with the mounting bolts.
- Tighten the mounting bolts securely.
7. Reconnect Wiring:
- Reconnect the wiring harness to the rear of the alternator.
8. Install the Alternator Belt:
- Place the alternator belt around the alternator pulley and tensioner.
- Adjust the tensioner to properly tension the belt.
9. Reconnect Battery:
- Reattach the negative battery terminal to the battery post.
- Tighten the negative battery terminal nut securely.
10. Test Alternator:
- Start the vehicle and allow it to run for a few minutes.
- Use a multimeter to check the charging system voltage at the battery terminals. It should be between 13.5 and 14.5 volts.
11. Verify Belt Tension:
- Check the tension of the alternator belt. It should deflect about 1/2 inch when pressed with your thumb.
12. Final Checks:
- Double-check all connections to ensure they are secure.
- Close the hood and take your vehicle for a short drive to ensure the alternator is functioning properly.

- Disconnect the negative battery terminal before starting any work on the vehicle's electrical system to prevent electrical shock.
- If you are not comfortable performing these steps yourself, it is recommended to have the work done by a qualified mechanic.
