NOTE: This guide is for the Nissan Micra k12 with the 1.2-liter engine. If your Micra has a different engine, the steps may be different.
1. Park your Micra in a safe location and turn off the engine.
2. Allow the engine to cool down completely.
3. Open the hood and disconnect the battery.
4. Remove the air intake hose.
5. Remove the upper timing cover.
6. Turn the crankshaft until the timing marks are aligned.
7. Loosen the tensioner pulley and remove the timing chain.
8. Install the new timing chain and tensioner pulley.
9. Realign the timing marks and tighten the tensioner pulley.
10. Replace the upper timing cover and the air intake hose.
11. Reconnect the battery and start the engine.
That's it! The timing chain in your 2003 Nissan Micra k12 has now been changed.
