Procedure:
1. Preparation:
- Park your vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
- Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.
2. Locate the Mirror:
- Identify which side mirror needs to be replaced (passenger-side or driver-side).
3. Remove the Mirror Cover:
- Gently pry open the mirror cover using a flat-head screwdriver or trim removal tool.
- Be careful not to break any plastic clips or tabs.
4. Disconnect Electrical Connector:
- Inside the mirror housing, you'll find an electrical connector for the mirror's power adjustment and heated function.
- Press the release tab on the connector and disconnect it carefully.
5. Loosen the Mounting Bolts:
- Locate the mounting bolts that secure the mirror assembly to the vehicle door.
- Use a Phillips-head screwdriver or a socket wrench (depending on the bolt type) to loosen the bolts.
6. Remove the Old Mirror Assembly:
- Once the bolts are loosened, carefully remove the old mirror assembly from the vehicle door.
7. Install the New Mirror Assembly:
- Align the new mirror assembly with the mounting holes on the vehicle door.
- Insert the mounting bolts and tighten them securely.
- Ensure the mirror is firmly secured in place.
8. Reconnect Electrical Connector:
- Plug the electrical connector back into its socket on the new mirror assembly.
9. Test the Mirror:
- Turn on the vehicle's ignition and adjust the mirror using the power adjustment controls to make sure it moves correctly.
- Test the heated mirror function if your vehicle has this feature.
10. Reattach the Mirror Cover:
- Snap the mirror cover back into place, making sure all the clips and tabs are securely fastened.
