1. Locate the OBD-II port in your vehicle. It is usually located under the dashboard, near the steering wheel.
2. Connect an OBD-II scanner to the port. You can purchase a scanner from an auto parts store or online.
3. Turn on the ignition and select "Check Engine Light" or "DTC" (Diagnostic Trouble Code) on the scanner.
4. The scanner will display the trouble codes that are causing the check engine light to come on.
5. Select "Erase" or "Clear" on the scanner to clear the trouble codes.
6. Turn off the scanner and disconnect it from the port.
7. Start your vehicle and the check engine light should be turned off.
If the check engine light comes back on, it means that there is still a problem with the car. You should take it to a mechanic for further diagnosis and repair.
