1. Make sure the engine is warm and has been running for a few minutes.
2. Park the truck on level ground and turn off the engine.
3. Open the hood and locate the transmission fluid dipstick. It is usually located near the back of the engine, on the driver's side.
4. Pull the dipstick out and wipe it clean with a rag.
5. Reinsert the dipstick all the way into the transmission fluid tube.
6. Pull the dipstick out again and check the fluid level. It should be between the "Full" and "Add" marks on the dipstick.
7. If the fluid level is low, add transmission fluid until it reaches the "Full" mark.
8. Reinsert the dipstick and close the hood.
Note: If the transmission fluid is dark brown or black, it may need to be changed. Consult your owner's manual for the recommended transmission fluid change interval.
