Tools and Supplies
* Jack and jack stands
* Lug wrench
* Socket set
* Flat-head screwdriver
* Caliper winding tool
* Brake fluid
* New brake pads and rotors (if necessary)
Instructions
1. Park the vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
2. Loosen the lug nuts on the rear wheels, but do not remove them.
3. Raise the vehicle with the jack and place the jack stands under the pinch welds.
4. Remove the lug nuts and wheels.
5. Use the flat-head screwdriver to pry the brake pad retaining pins out of the caliper.
6. Remove the brake pads from the caliper.
7. Inspect the brake rotors for wear or damage. If necessary, replace the rotors.
8. Install the new brake pads in the caliper.
9. Reinstall the brake pad retaining pins.
10. Reinstall the wheels and lug nuts.
11. Lower the vehicle.
12. Press the brake pedal several times to seat the new pads.
Tips
* Be careful not to get brake fluid on the paint of your vehicle, as it can damage the finish.
* If the brake fluid level is low, add brake fluid to the reservoir.
* Test the brakes by driving the vehicle at a low speed and applying the brakes. The brakes should feel firm and responsive.
