- Blower motor resistor
- Phillips head screwdriver
- Flat head screwdriver
- Pliers
- Socket wrench set
Instructions:
1. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.
2. Locate the blower motor resistor. In the 2000 Oldsmobile Silhouette, it is usually located under the passenger side dashboard.
3. Disconnect the negative battery cable. This will prevent any electrical shock while you are working.
4. Remove the screws that hold the blower motor resistor in place. There may be two or three screws.
5. Gently pry the blower motor resistor out of its housing. Be careful not to damage the resistor or the housing.
6. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the blower motor resistor. There may be one or two connectors.
7. Install the new blower motor resistor.
8. Reconnect the electrical connectors to the blower motor resistor.
9. Replace the screws that hold the blower motor resistor in place.
10. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
11. Start the engine and test the blower motor. The blower motor should now work on all speeds.
