1. Park your Ford Ranger on a level surface.
2. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.
3. Locate the transmission fluid drain plug. It is typically located on the bottom of the transmission pan.
4. Place a drain pan under the drain plug.
5. Use a wrench to loosen the drain plug.
6. Allow the transmission fluid to drain completely into the drain pan.
7. Once the transmission fluid has drained completely, reinstall the drain plug.
8. Tighten the drain plug until it is snug.
9. Add new transmission fluid to the transmission. The amount of transmission fluid required will vary depending on the year and model of your Ford Ranger. Check your owner's manual for the correct amount.
10. Check the transmission fluid level and add more fluid if necessary.
11. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
12. Shift through all of the gears.
13. Check the transmission fluid level again and add more fluid if necessary.
Your transmission fluid should now be drained and replaced.
