How do you remove 1999 roadking starter?

To Remove the starter from your 1999 Roadking you will need the following tools:

- Safety glasses

- Mechanics gloves

- Flat-blade screwdriver

- 5/8-inch and 3/8-inch wrenches

- 3/8-inch drive ratchet

- 3/8-inch drive extension

- 3/8-inch drive 10 mm socket

- Rag

1. Safety First

- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Wear gloves and safety glasses when handling the battery and starter motor.

2. Remove the Seat

- Remove the seat and battery from your Roadking.

3. Starter Access

- Now that the seat and battery are removed you will have access to the Starter Solenoid. Remove the wires from the starter solenoid by loosening the nuts that hold them in place.

4. Starter Mounting Bolts

- Loosen the bolts holding the starter to your Roadking with the 5/8-inch wrench and ratchet.

5. Freeing the Starter

- Once the bolts are loosened, use a flat-blade screwdriver to pry the starter out of its housing.

- Take care not to damage the starter motor or solenoid during the removal process.

- Lift the starter out of the motorcycle and place it on a clean surface.

6. Replace or Repair Starter

- Take the starter to an auto parts store to have it tested or rebuilt if necessary. If it is beyond repair, you will need to purchase a replacement starter.

7. Starter Replacement

- Reverse the steps above to install the new or rebuilt starter. Tighten the bolts securely.

- Reconnect the battery cables and test the starter to make sure it works properly.
