- A socket wrench set
- A Phillips-head screwdriver
- A flat-head screwdriver
1. Disconnect the fuel line from the carburetors.
2. Remove the air cleaner box.
3. Remove the throttle cable from the carburetors.
4. Remove the vacuum hose from the carburetors.
5. Remove the throttle Position Sensor electrical connector.
6. Remove the choke cable, if applicable.
7. Loosen the carburetor mounting bolts.
8. Remove the carburetors from the motorcycle.
WARNING: Be sure to drain the float bowls before removing the carburetors or else you could risk spilling gas all over yourself and your motorcycle.
Here are some additional tips for removing the mounting bolts for the carburetors on a SV650s motorcycle:
- Be careful not to drop the bolts into the engine.
- If the bolts are stuck, you can use a penetrating oil to help loosen them.
- Be sure to replace the bolts with new ones when you are finished.
