- A jack and jack stands
- A lug wrench
- Phillips head screwdriver
- Flat head screwdriver
- A set of wrenches
- A C-clamp
- A new set of brake pads
- A can of brake cleaner
- A bottle of brake fluid
Instructions:
Step 1: Park the car in a safe place and apply the parking brake.
Step 2: Turn off the engine.
Step 3: Loosen the lug nuts of the rear wheels.
Step 4: Raise the car with the jack and secure the car with the jack stands.
Step 5: Remove the lug nuts and take off the wheels.
Step 6: Locate the brake caliper on the rear wheel assembly.
Step 7: Remove the two Phillips head bolts that hold the brake caliper in place.
Step 8: Remove the brake caliper from the brake rotor.
Step 9: Remove the old brake pads from the brake caliper.
Step 10: Clean the brake caliper and rotor with brake cleaner.
Step 11: Position the new brake pads in the brake caliper.
Step 12: Reinstall the brake caliper on the brake rotor.
Step 13: Replace the two Phillips head bolts.
Step 14: Repeat steps 5-13 for the other rear wheel.
Step 15: Lower the car to the ground.
Step 16: Test the brakes by pumping them a few times.
Step 17: Make sure the brake fluid level is correct.
