How do you remove an alternator on a 1999 gmc truck?

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

2. Remove the serpentine belt.

3. Remove the top nut from the alternator bracket. This nut will hold the alternator in place.

4. Remove the bottom nut from the alternator bracket. This nut should just slide out.

5. Remove the two long bolts that hold the alternator in place. These bolts will be on the back side of the alternator.

6. Carefully lift the alternator out from under the hood of the truck.
