1) Gather the necessary tools and materials:
- New spark plugs (4)
- Spark plug wrench
- Socket wrench
- Ratchet
- Extension
- Gap gauge
2) Open the hood of your vehicle.
3) Disconnect the spark plug wires: There are four wire connections on the top of your engine. Disconnect them by squeezing the metal tab on the connector while simultaneously pulling on the plastic base of the connector.
4) Loosen the spark plug: Use the correct size spark plug wrench to loosen and remove the spark plug. Be careful not to drop the spark plug into the engine.
5) Gap the new spark plug: Use a gap gauge to ensure the new spark plug is properly gapped. The correct gap can be found in your owner's manual.
6) Screw the new spark plug into place: Hand-tighten the new spark plug until it is seated, then tighten it with the spark plug wrench.
7) Repeat steps 4-6 for the remaining spark plugs.
8) Reconnect the spark plug wires. Ensure the wires are connected properly and snapped securely.
9) Close the hood and start your vehicle.
10) Test-drive your vehicle to make sure the engine is running smoothly.
