Fixing a Flat Tire on a Riding Lawn Mower

Tools and Materials

1. Flathead screwdriver

2. Combination wrench

3. Socket set

4. Tire repair kit

5. Jack or ramps

6. Pliers

7. Knife

8. New inner tube (optional)

Instructions

  1. Park the lawn mower on a level surface.
  2. Engage the parking brake.
  3. Locate the flat tire.
  4. Use the flathead screwdriver to pry off the hubcap of the flat tire.
  5. Use the combination wrench to loosen the lug nuts on the flat tire.
  6. Remove the lug nuts and take off the flat tire.
  7. Inspect the inner tube of the flat tire.

    - If it is punctured, you will need to replace it.

    - If it is simply low on air, you can use the air compressor to inflate it.

  8. If you are replacing the inner tube, use the pliers and knife to remove the old inner tube from the tire.
  9. Install the new inner tube and inflate it to the recommended pressure.
  10. Reinstall the flat tire and secure it with the lug nuts.
  11. Replace the hubcap and lower the lawn mower.
  12. Test the lawn mower to make sure the tire is properly inflated.

Additional Tips

  • Be careful not to pinch the inner tube when installing it.
  • Make sure the lug nuts are tightened securely.
  • If you have a tubeless tire, you may be able to repair the puncture yourself using a tire repair kit.
