Step-by-step Guide:
Step 1 - Safety first! Park the vehicle on a level surface, turn off the engine, and engage the parking brake. Make sure the transmission is in neutral.
Step 2 - Lift the vehicle to gain access to the clutch assembly. You can use ramps, jack stands, or a lift to safely raise your car.
Step 3 - Remove the transmission. Disconnect the negative terminal of your battery to avoid any electrical issues. Disconnect the clutch cable or hydraulic line from the clutch release fork. Unbolt the transmission and remove it.
Step 4 - Inspect the flywheel. Before installing the new clutch, inspect the flywheel for any damage or wear. Replace the flywheel if necessary.
Step 5 - Align the clutch disc and pressure plate. You should have aligned the clutch cover and release bearing if removing the bearing already (if the transmission is out). If you missed that step, make sure to correctly align these. Install the clutch disc to the flywheel and insert the pressure plate. Secure both with the bolts provided in the clutch kit.
Step 6 - Install the throwout bearing. Slide the throwout bearing onto the transmission input shaft. Make sure it's properly seated.
Step 7 - Bolt the transmission to the engine. With the clutch disc, pressure plate, and throwout bearing in place, carefully align the transmission with the engine. Tighten the bolts in a crisscross pattern to evenly distribute the pressure.
Step 8 - Adjust the clutch pedal (if applicable). Ensure that the clutch pedal has the proper free play. Adjust the pedal as necessary.
Step 9 - Reconnect the battery. Once everything is in place, reconnect the battery's negative terminal.
Step 10 - Test drive the vehicle. Take the car out for a test drive to ensure the clutch engages smoothly and the transmission shifts properly.
