Tools Needed:
- Pliers
- 10mm socket wrench
- Flat-head screwdriver
- Replacement windshield wipers
Step 1: Remove the Old Wiper Arms:
1. Locate the windshield wiper arms on the front of your vehicle. They are usually attached to the wiper motor assembly under the hood.
2. Use the pliers to pinch and slide down the wiper arm locking clips.
3. Once the clips are released, lift the wiper arms up and off the windshield.
Step 2: Remove the Old Wiper Blades:
1. Locate the old wiper blades on the wiper arms.
2. Use the flat-head screwdriver to pry open the small tab at the end of the wiper arm that holds the wiper blade in place.
3. Once the tab is open, slide the old wiper blade off the arm.
Step 3: Install the New Wiper Blades:
1. Slide the new wiper blades onto the wiper arms, ensuring they are properly seated.
2. Press down on the tab to secure the new wiper blades.
Step 4: Reattach the Wiper Arms:
1. Align the wiper arms with their respective mounting points on the windshield.
2. Lower the wiper arms until the locking clips engage and snap into place.
Step 5: Test the Wiper Blades:
1. Turn on the windshield wipers to ensure they are working properly.
2. Check for any skipping, streaking, or noise to make sure the new wiper blades are installed correctly.
Note:
- Make sure to adjust the wiper arms to the correct angle to ensure optimal wiping coverage on your windshield.
- If the locking clips are damaged or worn, be sure to replace them with new ones.
