Step 1: Remove the sunroof motor cover
1. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the two screws holding the sunroof motor cover in place.
2. Pull the cover up and off to expose the sunroof motor.
Step 2: Disconnect the sunroof motor
1. Use a Torx bit to loosen the two bolts holding the sunroof motor in place.
2. Once the bolts are removed, disconnect the electrical connector.
Step 3: Remove the sunroof glass
1. Locate the four bolts that hold the glass in place. They should be located on the sides and corners of the glass.
2. Use a Torx bit to remove the four bolts.
3. Carefully lift the glass out of the sunroof opening.
Step 4: Remove the sunroof frame
1. Use a flathead screwdriver to pry the clips that hold the frame in place.
2. Once all the clips are released, lift the frame out of the sunroof opening.
Step 5: Clean and inspect the sunroof opening
1. Use a damp cloth to clean the sunroof opening.
2. Inspect the opening for any damage. If you see any damage, it will need to be repaired before you can install the new sunroof.
Step 6: Install a new sunroof
1. To install a new sunroof, simply follow the steps in reverse order.
Tips:
- Be sure to take your time and be careful when removing the sunroof. There are a lot of small parts that could easily be lost.
- If you are not comfortable removing the sunroof yourself, you can have a professional do it for you.
