How to Change a BMW 530xi Headlight Bulb (2006)

Tools and Materials:

- Phillips-head screwdriver

- Flat-head screwdriver

- Replacement headlight bulb (H7 type)

- Paper towel or clean rag

Instructions:

1. Open the hood of your 2006 BMW 530xi.

2. Locate the headlight assembly that contains the burned-out bulb. The headlights are located on either side of the front of the vehicle.

3. Use the Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the screws that hold the headlight assembly in place. There are two screws on the top and two on the bottom of the assembly.

4. Once the screws are removed, carefully pry the headlight assembly out of the vehicle. Be careful not to drop the assembly or break the glass.

5. Locate the burned-out bulb. The bulb is held in place by a metal clip.

6. Use the flat-head screwdriver to pry the metal clip off of the bulb.

7. Remove the burned-out bulb from the assembly.

8. Insert the replacement bulb into the assembly.

9. Secure the bulb in place with the metal clip.

10. Reinstall the headlight assembly into the vehicle.

11. Replace the screws that hold the headlight assembly in place.

12. Repeat the process on the other headlight, if necessary.

13. Close the hood of your BMW 530xi.

Your headlights should now be working properly.
