How do you tighten an alternator belt on a 1995 Dodge Neon?

To tighten the alternator belt on a 1995 Dodge Neon, you need to:

1. Park your car on a flat surface and turn off the engine.

2. Locate the alternator. It is usually mounted on the front of the engine, near the top.

3. Find the alternator belt tensioner. It is usually a black or silver cylinder with a bolt in the center.

4. Use a wrench to loosen the bolt on the alternator belt tensioner.

5. Use your hand to turn the alternator belt tensioner clockwise until the belt is tight.

6. Tighten the bolt on the alternator belt tensioner until it is snug.

7. Check the tension of the belt by pressing down on it with your finger. It should deflect about 1/2 inch.

8. If the belt is too tight, loosen the bolt on the alternator belt tensioner and turn the tensioner counterclockwise until the belt is loose.
