1. Turn off the snowblower and allow the engine to cool down completely.
2. Disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent the snowblower from starting accidentally.
3. Locate the auger belt tensioner. The tensioner is usually a spring-loaded bolt or lever that is attached to the auger housing.
4. Loosen the tensioner bolt or lever. This will allow the auger belt to loosen.
5. Move the auger belt to the desired position. The auger belt should be tight enough so that it does not slip, but not so tight that it puts excessive strain on the auger motor.
6. Tighten the tensioner bolt or lever to secure the auger belt in place.
7. Reconnect the spark plug wire.
8. Start the snowblower and test the auger blades to make sure they are operating properly.
