Make sure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine has been turned off for at least 30 minutes.
Locate the drain plug on the transmission axle housing. It is usually a 17 mm bolt located near the bottom of the transmission.
Place an oil drain pan under the drain plug to catch the fluid.
Use a wrench to loosen and remove the drain plug.
Allow the fluid to drain completely. This may take a few minutes.
Once the fluid has drained, reinstall the drain plug.
Check the transmission fluid level and add more fluid if necessary.
