How do you replace the steering column shaft coupler on a 1998 Dakota?

1. Disconnect the battery.

This is a safety precaution to prevent the airbag from deploying.

2. Remove the steering wheel.

To do this, you will need a steering wheel puller. Once the steering wheel is removed, you will see the steering column shaft coupler.

3. Remove the old steering column shaft coupler.

To do this, you will need a pair of pliers and a flat-head screwdriver. Use the pliers to grip the old coupler and turn it counterclockwise until it comes off.

4. Install the new steering column shaft coupler.

To do this, simply slide the new coupler onto the steering column shaft and turn it clockwise until it is tight.

5. Reinstall the steering wheel.

To do this, simply reverse the steps you took to remove it.

6. Reconnect the battery.

Your steering column shaft coupler is now replaced.
