1. Park the truck on a level surface and turn off the engine.
2. Crawl under the truck and locate the clutch adjustment mechanism. It is usually a threaded rod or cable located near the transmission.
3. Use a wrench to turn the adjustment mechanism until there is a slight amount of play in the clutch pedal (about 1/4 to 1/2 inch).
4. Test the clutch by starting the engine and shifting into first gear. If the clutch slips or grabs, readjust the mechanism until it shifts smoothly.
5. If you are unable to adjust the clutch to your satisfaction, it may be necessary to replace the clutch disc or pressure plate.
