1. Insert the valet key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position.
2. Press and hold the unlock button on the key fob for five seconds.
3. The alarm should sound, then turn off.
Method 2: Disconnecting the battery
1. Open the hood of your Jeep Cherokee.
2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
3. Wait for one minute, then reconnect the negative battery terminal.
4. The alarm should reset.
Method 3: Using the key in the door
1. Insert the key into the driver's side door lock.
2. Turn the key to the "Lock" position and hold it there for 30 seconds.
3. Turn the key to the "Unlock" position and hold it there for 30 seconds.
4. The alarm should reset.
Method 4: Using a scan tool
1. Connect a scan tool to the diagnostic port under the dashboard.
2. Select the "Body Control Module" or "Security System" module.
3. Find the option to reset the alarm and select it.
4. The alarm should reset.
Note: If you cannot find the reset option in the scan tool, you may need to take it to a dealer or a qualified mechanic.
