How do you determine when a tire was made?
The date a tire was manufactured is found in a series of numbers called the DOT code, which is molded onto the sidewall of the tire. The DOT code consists of a series of letters and numbers, including the plant code, tire size, and date of manufacture. The date of manufacture is represented by the last four numbers of the DOT code. The first two digits represent the week of the year, and the last two digits represent the year. For example, a DOT code ending in "1522" would indicate that the tire was manufactured in the 15th week of 2022.
