Locate the air conditioning drive belt. It is usually located on the front of the engine, near the top.
Loosen the bolt that holds the air conditioning compressor in place. This bolt is usually located on the side of the compressor, near the top.
Slide the air conditioning compressor towards the engine. This will loosen the air conditioning drive belt.
Insert a wrench or screwdriver into the tensioner pulley and turn it clockwise. This will tighten the air conditioning drive belt.
Tighten the bolt that holds the air conditioning compressor in place.
Check the tension of the air conditioning drive belt. The belt should be tight enough so that it does not slip, but not so tight that it puts undue strain on the compressor.
If the belt is too loose, repeat steps 3-6. If the belt is too tight, loosen the bolt that holds the air conditioning compressor in place and slide the compressor away from the engine until the belt is at the correct tension.
Once the air conditioning drive belt is properly adjusted, start the engine and check the operation of the air conditioning system. The air conditioning should now be working properly.
