1. Park the backhoe on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
2. Disengage the 4-wheel drive.
3. Block the wheels to prevent the backhoe from moving.
4. Crawl under the backhoe and locate the four axle housing bolts. These bolts are located on the bottom of the axle housing, one on each side near the front and back of the housing.
5. Remove the nuts from the axle housing bolts.
6. Use a pry bar to pry the axle housing down until the axle shafts are clear of the wheel hubs.
7. Slide the axle housing out from under the backhoe.
8. Be careful not to damage the axle seals when removing the axle housing.
If you are unable to remove the axle housing by yourself, you may need to get assistance from another person.
