Tools Required:
- Phillips-head screwdriver
- Flat-head screwdriver or pry tool
- Replacement window switch
Instructions:
1. Disconnect Battery:
Before starting any electrical work, disconnect the negative terminal of your car's battery to avoid any electrical hazards.
2. Remove Door Panel:
- Use a flat-head screwdriver or pry tool to carefully pry open the door panel.
- Remove any screws that may be securing the door panel in place.
- Disconnect any electrical connectors or cables attached to the door panel, such as the window switch connector.
- Carefully lift the door panel upwards and remove it.
3. Locate Window Switch:
- Once the door panel is removed, locate the window switch. It is usually found on the driver's side door panel.
4. Disconnect Switch Connector:
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the window switch by pressing the release tab and gently pulling the connector out.
5. Remove Switch:
- Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the screws holding the window switch in place.
- Be careful not to drop the screws into the door cavity.
- Gently pull the window switch out of its socket.
6. Install Replacement Switch:
- Insert the replacement window switch into the socket and align the screw holes.
- Secure the window switch using the screws you removed earlier.
7. Reconnect Connector:
- Reconnect the electrical connector to the window switch.
8. Test Switch:
- Reconnect the battery terminal.
- Test the window switch to make sure it's working correctly by operating the window up and down.
9. Reinstall Door Panel:
- Reposition the door panel and ensure that all the clips and connectors are properly aligned.
- Secure the door panel using the screws you removed earlier.
10. Connect Battery:
- Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
