1. Park your car in a safe and well-lit area, and turn off the engine. Allow the headlights to cool down if they have been on.
2. Open the hood of your car. Refer to your owner's manual for specific instructions on how to do this.
3. Locate the headlight assembly that needs the bulb replaced. The headlight assembly is typically located behind the headlight lens cover.
4. Remove the protective cap from the back of the headlight assembly. This cap may be held in place by a twist-lock mechanism or a rubber grommet.
5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the back of the headlight bulb. Press the release tab on the connector and pull it straight off.
6. Remove the old headlight bulb from the housing. Turn the bulb counterclockwise to remove it.
7. Inspect the headlight bulb socket for any damage or corrosion. Clean the socket with a soft cloth if necessary.
8. Install the new headlight bulb into the housing. Turn the bulb clockwise until it locks into place.
9. Reconnect the electrical connector to the back of the headlight bulb. Press the connector firmly into place until you hear a click.
10. Replace the protective cap on the back of the headlight assembly.
11. Close the hood of your car.
12. Turn on the headlights to verify that the new bulb is working properly.
