1. Loosen the lug nuts: Use a lug wrench to loosen the lug nuts on the front wheels. Do not remove the lug nuts completely.
2. Jack up the car: Place a jack under the front of the car and raise the car until the front wheels are off the ground. Place jack stands under the front suspension components for safety.
3. Remove the wheels: Remove the lug nuts and take off the wheels.
4. Remove the caliper bolts: There are two bolts that hold the caliper in place. Use a wrench to loosen and remove these bolts.
5. Remove the caliper: Once the bolts are removed, you can pull the caliper off the rotor. Be careful not to let the caliper hang by the brake line.
6. Inspect the caliper: Check the caliper for any damage or leaks. If there is any damage, the caliper should be replaced.
7. Clean the caliper: If the caliper is in good condition, you can clean it with brake cleaner and a brush.
8. Reinstall the caliper: Slide the caliper back over the rotor and insert the bolts. Tighten the bolts until they are snug.
9. Reinstall the wheels: Put the wheels back on and tighten the lug nuts.
10. Lower the car: Lower the car with the jack and remove the jack stands.
11. Test the brakes: Press the brake pedal a few times to make sure the brakes are working properly.
