How do you change a starter motor on peugeot 307?

Tools and materials needed:

- Replacement starter motor

- Socket wrench set

- Ratchet

- Pry bar

- Gloves

- Safety glasses

Step 1: Park the vehicle on a level surface, apply the parking brake and turn off the engine. Open the hood and disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to prevent electrical shock.

Step 2: Locate the starter motor on the engine. In the Peugeot 307, it is usually mounted on the front side of the engine, near the bottom. It is a cylindrical-shaped component with electrical connections and a solenoid attached to it.

Step 3: Disconnect the electrical connections from the starter motor. There may be two or more electrical connectors attached to the starter motor. Use a socket wrench to loosen the nuts or bolts holding these connectors in place and then disconnect them by hand.

Step 4: Remove the starter motor mounting bolts. Use a ratchet and socket wrench to loosen and remove the bolts that hold the starter motor in place. There may be two or more mounting bolts, depending on the model and year of your Peugeot 307.

Step 5: Once all mounting bolts are removed, carefully pry the starter motor loose from the engine using pry bars. Be careful not to damage any other components around the starter motor.

Step 6: Remove the starter motor from the vehicle and set it aside.

Step 7: Now, insert the replacement starter motor into position. Make sure that it aligns properly with the mounting bolts.

Step 8: Reinstall the starter motor mounting bolts and tighten them securely.

Step 9: Reinstall the electrical connections that were disconnected in step 3.

Step 10: Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.

Step 11: Test the starter motor by starting the engine. If the engine starts successfully, the starter motor has been successfully replaced.

Tips:

- Make sure you purchase the correct starter motor for your specific model and year of Peugeot 307.

- If the starter motor is difficult to reach, you may need to remove other components, such as the air filter housing or the battery, to access it.

- Be careful not to drop the starter motor or let it fall on your foot.

- If you are uncomfortable performing this repair, you can have the starter motor replaced by a professional mechanic.
