1. Park your car in a safe location and turn off the engine. Engage the parking brake.
2. Locate the rear wheels. They are typically held in place by lug nuts or bolts.
3. Use a lug wrench to loosen the lug nuts or bolts on one of the rear wheels. Do not remove the lug nuts or bolts completely.
4. Use a jack to raise the car until the wheel is off the ground.
5. Remove the lug nuts or bolts and remove the wheel.
6. Locate the brake caliper. It is typically attached to the wheel hub by two bolts.
7. Use a wrench to loosen the bolts holding the brake caliper in place. Do not remove the bolts completely.
8. Pull the brake caliper off the brake disc.
9. Remove the old brake pads from the brake caliper.
10. Clean the brake caliper and disc with brake cleaner.
11. Install the new brake pads into the brake caliper.
12. Reinstall the brake caliper on the brake disc and secure it with the bolts.
13. Replace the wheel and lug nuts or bolts. Tighten the lug nuts or bolts in a star pattern.
14. Lower the car using the jack.
15. Repeat steps 3-14 for the other rear wheel.
16. Test the brakes before driving the car.
