How do you change the brake light bulbs on a 2002 VW Passat?

To change the brake light bulbs on a 2002 VW Passat:

1. Open the trunk.

2. On each side of the trunk, there is a black plastic cover near the taillight. Use a flathead screwdriver to pry open the cover.

3. There will be two bolts that hold the taillight in place. Remove these bolts with a socket wrench or screwdriver.

4. Pull out the taillight assembly.

5. Turn the bulb counterclockwise to remove it.

6. Insert the new bulb.

7. Repeat steps 2-7 on the other side.
