Instructions:
1. Park the Sportage on a level surface and engage the parking brake. Be sure the Sportage is in park if you have an automatic transmission or first gear if it is a manual transmission.
2. Loosen the lug nuts on the rear wheels, but don't remove them completely.
3. Jack up the Sportage using a floor jack or ramps until the tires are off the ground.
4. Place jack stands under the frame of the Sportage to support it.
5. Remove the lug nuts and take off the rear wheels.
6. Locate the lower control arm.
7. Use the pry bar to pry the control arm down until there is enough space to remove the coil spring.
8. Install the coil spring compressor tool.
9. Compress the coil spring.
10. Remove the upper strut mount nuts.
11. Remove the old coil spring.
12. Install the new coil spring.
12. Reverse the steps to reattach the upper strut mount nuts and the control arm.
13. Reinstall the wheels.
14. Lower the Sportage from the jack stands.
