1. Prepare the tools you need. You will need a Phillips screwdriver, a flat-head screwdriver, a new exterior door handle, and some WD-40.
2. Locate the screws holding the door handle in place. There are two screws located on the inside of the door handle.
3. Insert the flat-head screwdriver into the slot on the exterior door handle. Turn the screwdriver counterclockwise to release the door handle from the door panel.
4. Unscrew the two screws holding the door handle in place.
5. Replace the old exterior door handle with the new one. Make sure that the screws holding the new door handle are in place.
6. Test the new exterior door handle. Open and close the door to make sure the door handle is working properly.
7. Apply the WD-40. This will help keep the door handle from getting rusted.
