1. Open the trunk and locate the latch mechanism. It is located on the inside of the trunk lid, near the center.
2. Remove the two bolts that hold the latch mechanism in place.
3. Remove the latch mechanism from the trunk lid.
4. Inspect the latch mechanism for any damage or obstructions. If there is any damage, replace the latch mechanism.
5. If there is no damage, clean the latch mechanism and apply a lubricant.
6. Reinstall the latch mechanism in the trunk lid.
7. Tighten the two bolts that hold the latch mechanism in place.
8. Close the trunk and test the latch to ensure that it closes completely.
