1. Use a shovel to remove snow or mud from around the tires. If the snow or mud is packed hard, you may need to use a pickaxe to break it up.
2. Place sand, kitty litter, or carpet scraps under the tires. This will give the tires more traction and help them grip the road.
3. If you have a front-wheel-drive car, put the transmission in first gear. If you have a rear-wheel-drive car, put the transmission in reverse gear.
4. Start the engine and slowly press the gas pedal. Be careful not to press the gas pedal too hard, as this could cause the tires to spin and dig deeper into the snow or mud.
5. If your car is still stuck, you may need to use a tow truck. A tow truck can pull your car out of the snow or mud and get you back on the road.
Here are some additional tips that may be helpful:
* Turn off the traction control system.
* If you have a spare tire, you can place it under the stuck tire.
* You can also use a piece of wood or a 2x4 to help you gain traction.
* If you are stuck on an incline, you may need to use a chain or rope to pull your car up the incline.
* Be patient. It may take some time to get your car unstuck.
