1. Start Engine: Turn on the engine of your Audi 2005 A6.
2. Activate Valet Mode: Locate the "Valet Mode" option usually within your infotainment system, central display, or settings menu. Activate this mode.
3. Use Glove Compartment Button: Inside the glove compartment, there's a small button near the lock or handle. With the valet mode activated, press and hold this button. Simultaneously, close the glove compartment firmly
4. Secure Glove Compartment: Once closed, attempt to open the glove compartment again manually without using the unlock button. If securely locked, it should not open and will only be accessible using the remote control or master key from now on.
Locking the Trunk:
1. Press and Hold Trunk Open Button: Locate the trunk open button or lever that you usually use to manually unlock the trunk from the outside or inside of the vehicle. Press and hold the button or lever while closing the trunk lid using your main key
2. Keep Pushing until It Locks: As you firmly press and hold the open button while lowering the trunk lid, you may hear a locking sound or chime (typically after holding for 3-5 seconds). Now with the Valet Key, try opening the trunk without the valet key-the locking system should not allow this action unless you unlock them using the main key or remotely from inside the vehicle.
Remember, you'll still be able to access these using the regular unlock functions within your interior console or with your main key remote key fob while you have valet mode activated. Only the valet, who will only have the valet key, won't be able to access the glove compartment and trunk.
