On a 1988 Honda Civic DX Hatchback, the ignition coil is located on the inner side of the right front strut tower. It is attached to the firewall and is cylindrical in shape. It has two connectors, a 3-pin connector on one end and a cylindrical connection point for a spark plug wire from the distributor cap on the other.
