To replace the reversing light switch, you will need:
1. A new reversing light switch.
2. A 10mm socket wrench.
3. A ratchet.
4. A flat-head screwdriver.
Instructions:
1. Park your car on a level surface and turn off the engine.
2. Engage parking brake.
3. Get under the front of the car and locate the reversing light switch. It will be located on the top of the gearbox, near the oil pan.
4. Unplug the electrical connector from the switch.
5. Use the 10mm socket wrench to loosen the bolts holding the switch in place.
6. Remove the switch from the gearbox by lifting it straight up.
7. Apply thread sealant to the threads of the new switch.
8. Install the new switch into the gearbox by hand.
9. Tighten the bolts holding the switch in place with the 10mm socket wrench.
10. Reattach the electrical connector to the switch.
11. Test the reversing lights to make sure they are working properly.
NOTE: You may need to use a flat-head screwdriver to unclip the electrical connector from the switch. Be careful not to damage the connector.
