1. Make sure the vehicle is parked on a flat, stable surface and that the parking brake is engaged.
2. Open the hood of the vehicle.
3. Locate the battery. The battery is located on the right side of the engine compartment, near the firewall.
4. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. This is the terminal marked with a "-" sign. Use a wrench to loosen the nut that holds the terminal in place and then remove the terminal.
5. Disconnect the positive battery terminal. This is the terminal marked with a "+" sign. Use a wrench to loosen the nut that holds the terminal in place and then remove the terminal.
6. Remove the battery hold-down clamp. This is the metal clamp that holds the battery in place. Use a wrench to loosen the nut that holds the clamp in place and then remove the clamp.
7. Remove the battery from the vehicle. Be careful not to drop the battery.
8. Install the new battery in the reverse order of the steps above.
9. Close the hood of the vehicle.
10. Start the engine and check the battery gauge. The battery gauge should read between 12 and 14 volts.
