* Powerglide: These used Type A ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid). However, finding *exactly* the same fluid as used in 1969 is unlikely. A modern equivalent Dexron type fluid would be suitable. Always check your owner's manual if possible for the most accurate recommendation.
* Turbo Hydra-Matic 350 (TH350): These also used Type A ATF originally. Again, a modern Dexron-compatible ATF is generally recommended. Dexron III or Dexron VI are common choices. However, you need to check if the transmission has been modified or rebuilt, as a later owner may have used a different type of fluid.
Crucially: You should consult a repair manual specific to your vehicle's year and transmission type before adding any fluid. The manual will give the most accurate recommendation and also explain the proper fluid level checking procedure.
Don't just guess. Using the wrong fluid can damage your transmission.
