To find it, you'll need to:
1. Consult your vehicle's repair manual: This is the most reliable source. The manual will have diagrams showing the exact location of all sensors, including the EGR sensor(s).
2. Use a reliable online parts diagram: Websites like AutoZone, Advance Auto Parts, or RockAuto allow you to select your specific year, make, model, and engine, then view a parts diagram. Look for the EGR valve and its associated sensors.
3. Look near the EGR valve: The EGR sensor(s) are usually located very close to the EGR valve itself. The EGR valve is typically on the intake manifold, near the back of the engine. It's a metal valve with vacuum lines connected.
Important Note: Before attempting any work on your vehicle, disconnect the negative battery terminal to avoid electrical shorts. If you're not comfortable working on your vehicle, it's best to take it to a qualified mechanic.
