1. Gather your materials. You will need:
* New spark plugs (6)
* Spark plug wrench
* Ratchet
* Socket extension
* 5/8-inch socket
* Rag
* Wire brush
* Dielectric grease
2. Prepare the engine.
- Turn off the engine and allow it to cool completely.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the engine cover.
3. Locate the spark plugs. The spark plugs are located on the top of the engine, near the front. They are covered by a black plastic cover.
4. Remove the spark plug covers. Use the spark plug wrench to loosen the bolts that hold the spark plug covers in place. Remove the covers and set them aside.
5. Clean the spark plug wells. Use a rag and a wire brush to clean the spark plug wells. Remove any dirt, debris, or old spark plug threads that may be present.
6. Apply dielectric grease to the new spark plugs. Apply a small amount of dielectric grease to the threads of the new spark plugs. This will help to prevent the plugs from seizing in the engine.
7. Install the new spark plugs. Screw the new spark plugs into the spark plug wells by hand. Tighten the spark plugs using the spark plug wrench until they are snug. Do not over-tighten the plugs.
8. Reinstall the spark plug covers. Reinstall the spark plug covers and tighten the bolts that hold them in place.
**9. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
10. Start the engine.
11. Test drive the vehicle to ensure that it is running properly.**
