A cabin air filter is a filter installed in the car's heating or air-conditioning system to sift the incoming air and remove pollutants such as dust, dirt, pollen, and other allergens. The 1991 suburban did not come equipped with a cabin air filter. General Motors did not begin installing cabin air filters in their vehicles until the 2000 model year.
