No, the flexplate to converter connection does not require torquing on the C4 automatic transmission. Tighten the converter securing nuts or bolts until they just bottom gently against the converter face, just enough to break converter's resistance to seating against the flex plate. Excessive tightening of these bolts can distort and unbalance the converter, causing vibration and premature bearing wear.
